I was delighted to be a part of this great book about mythical creatures, Cryptids, Creatures & Critters: A Manual of Monsters and Mythos by Eldritch Rach as a guest artist.

I chose to illustrate a wolpertinger for my entry, a creature whose body is made up from several different animals, most commonly in folkore depicted as a small mammal with the wings, antlers and tail of other species. In line with my jackalope creations I decided to create my own species of wolpertinger – the African savannah wolpertinger! It has the body of a serval, the head of a savannah hare, the horns of an oryx and the wings and feathers of a secretary bird.
