There are some new bits on my shop, including prin There are some new bits on my shop, including prints of my new illustration "A Powerful Leap", inspired by Watership Down by Richard Adams. It depicts an emotional scene from the epilogue where El-ahrairah invites Hazel to join his Owlsa. I aimed to illustrate Hazel’s sense of his strength and speed flowing into his friends and descendants as he takes a powerful leap into the afterlife 🐇☀️ Thanks so much to Peter for commissioning this artwork as a tribute to his father, Bill Brown. I’ve just made some charity donations from sales I’ve just made some charity donations from sales over the last year! My red panda zine raises money for @redpandanetwork, my binturong pin for @abconservation, my Prince Rainbow pin for @mindoutlgbtq, my Foxy Feb zine for the League Against Cruel Sports, and my giant pangolin prints support conservation work by @chesterzoo! I finally finished the last design for my Jackalop I finally finished the last design for my Jackalopia pin Kickstarter - the Wolperking! It is a wolpertinger found in the UK (inspired by pine marten, red deer, brown hare and kingfisher). I really wanted to make a more detailed pin for the last design so this one is a little larger than the others at 60mm. It was so much fun to create! An incredibly huge thank you to everyone who’s backed and shared my project and allowed me to indulge in this last design!! I'm very excited to announce that I've just launch I'm very excited to announce that I've just launched a brand new Kickstarter campaign to fund a set of jackalope enamel pins! 🐰 The jackalope is a mythical creature from North American folklore, traditionally described as a jackrabbit with antlers, but when I got drawing them I began to imagine lots of different species! I had a lot of fun experimenting with how they might have evolved and adapted to live in different climates by combining different animals that live in similar environments. In 2016 I created a mini guide book full of illustrations and fun facts that I'd invented about all my little jackalopes, called the Jackalopia. My goal is to fund at least the first 4 pin designs - the Greater, Arctic, European and Savanna jackalopes! All the pins will be hard enamel with black nickel plating and screen printing, which allows me to add finer details such as whiskers, patterns in the fur and shading for that extra touch. I don't know how many designs I will be able to fund, but there are of course many more that I'd also love to make if possible! There are also lots of add-ons such as the original zine bundle, and there's just one commission slot available for a custom wolpertinger! This has been a lot of fun to make, thanks so much for checking out my project 🥰 Link in bio!
